Gulf of Dulce Dolphin, Whale Watching and Snorkeling Tour
This is a 4 hour boat excursion out of Jimenez, on the beautiful Gulf of Dulce(“Sweet Gulf”). Here you will begin the search for Dolphins, Turtles, Sea Birds, Rays and Whales (when in season). The tour launches from the municipal pier in Puerto Jimenez, and crosses to the East side along the Piedras Blancas National Park, to cruise the rugged coast line allowing for bird watching and photo opportunities of the wild untouched shores. This is also where the tour stops for snorkeling and swimming and can do plane boarding when conditions permit.
The tour boat then heads back across the Gulf to the West side and into the Mangroves and Estuaries. Your guide will give you an informative lesson on the history and importance of the mangrove system and the role they play in the protection of the shoreline, plus the creatures that call them home. This is an excellent opportunity to do a little bird watching and possible Cayman spotting.
We can also organize for you to visit an animal rescue sanctuary during this tour, where they have rehabilitated scarlet macaws, peccary, sloths, porcupine, and monkeys plus more- cost is an additional $25 per person, donated in full to the sanctuary.
This tour runs from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM; snorkeling equipment is provided. You will need sunscreen, a hat, and sun glasses.
Cost is $420/ boat, up to 4 persons.
